Can I buy your work directly from this website?
Yes, everything listed here is available to buy.
Do you ship internationally? From where?
Yes, I ship worldwide. All works are dispatched from my studio in İstanbul, through my UK-registered company.
Are all the works here originals?
Yes. Every piece you see on this shop is an original, physical work made by me. You’ll find full details: size, materials, title, etc. on each piece’s page. If you’d like to know more, feel free to reach out.
Can I request a commission or custom piece?
I don’t usually take commissions, but if you have something specific in mind, you’re welcome to get in touch.
How do I know if a piece is finished, signed and archived?
Every work listed here is complete, signed, dated, and fully archived. I only publish pieces on the shop once they’ve reached that stage.
What’s the difference between the front and back sides of a piece? Can I choose which side to display?
There’s no fixed “front” or “back.” I often draw on both sides of a piece, sometimes they relate, sometimes they don’t. You’re welcome to display either side or even hang the work in a way that both can be seen. I label them as Side ᵇ and Side ᵈ, mirrored shapes of each other in lowercase, as a simple way of distinguishing them.
Why do you often draw on both sides of the paper?
Because it’s fun. Sometimes ink or pigment seeps through, and I enjoy responding to those forms on the other side. I just like the feeling of using both surfaces; it adds something alive and unexpected to the work.
Why are some pieces marked with numbers and codes?
Each work is archived with a unique code. The superscript ⁶ refers to my archive, and the numbers that follow refer to the day, family or group, and individual position within that group. It’s a system that keeps track of what I make, when, where, how, and in what context. I’ll write more about this system soon.
Will the work come framed or unframed?
Unless stated otherwise, all works are sold unframed. They can be framed if you wish, but it’s not essential. I’ll eventually publish a framing guideline. The one key thing: the glass shouldn’t touch the surface. Leave a slight gap to let the piece breathe and last longer.
How do you decide when a drawing is finished?
That’s always a difficult call. Sometimes I work on something for years, leaving and returning. Other times, a piece comes together in a single session. I finish when I feel there’s nothing more to add, or when I realise I no longer know what to add. I call that moment “ending” the work.
What does a typical day in your studio look like?
There’s no fixed routine. I draw, I pause, I clean, I return to the table. I might put on a film or a podcast, do some admin, then draw again. It’s all part of the rhythm. I may share a day-in-my-life sometime soon.
Do you ever repeat forms or colours in your work on purpose?
I do return to certain methodical gestures, shapes or colours I love. Though not on purpose It’s a kind of unconscious echo.
What role does time play in your work?
Time is both material and method. I track it, measure it, respond to it. Some works are built over months or years, others in a day.
Why do you catalogue everything so precisely?
Because it matters to me that each work has a context. Every mark is part of a wider story. I want to remember when I made it, why, and what came before or after. The archive is how I hold that together.
How do you price your work?
I’ve developed a six-factor system to price my work fairly and transparently.
- Size: calculated by square centimetres.
- Time: every minute spent is counted.
- Weight: in grams, as a material value.
- Value: from 1 (simple/repetitive) to 6 (unique and historically important to my practice).
- Addition: a percentage covering tax, studio, website, etc.
- Aftersale: value increases slowly over time based on how long ago the piece was made (this applies only after the first sale).
This lets me price small, quiet works alongside large, complex ones without losing coherence. Prices range from around £6 to over £1,000 depending on these elements. I’ll publish a full breakdown of this system soon.
